Let's take a look at why your versines and spans might be missing
Lineardraft automatically creates versine and span annotation labels when you create structures using the copy functions. However, when you place your structures one by one (without using any copying) you'll need to add your versine and span annotations manually.
To add versine & spans manually:
- Select 'Add Annotation' button
Follow the prompt to select a structure
- Select the first Structure from which you want to annotate
Follow the prompt to select the next structure
- Select the next Structure along the track
The span & versine will be instantly calculated for all track the two selected structures have in common. The 2D annotation will be placed at the exact centre of the two structures that you have just selected.
Did you know?
The prompt command will remain active, thus allowing you to continue selecting additional structures along the track. The span & versine will be calculated and placed accordingly to each individual span.
TOP TIP!
For Lineardraft to measure and place span & versine annotations within a design, the rails (for each associated track) must be made up of continuous line strings and they must be included in your design as a referenced file. Any break or gap in the line strings within a span will result in the software being unable to calculate and subsequently place the annotation.
