If the Lineardraft Toolbar does not appear within your CAD Application, there are a number of reasons why this might be. This article will describe them and how to rectify any potential problems.
Is the Lineardraft Toolbar enabled?
- The custom Lineardraft Toolbar may be turned off. To check this, navigate to Tools > Toolboxes (Ctl+T) and ensure that 'Linear Draft - Custom' is selected.
- Once selected, the Lineardraft Toolbar will be displayed. Click 'OK' to exit the dialog.
- If the checkbox is already ticked, move to the next stage.
Have you got the correct plugin installed (this might be the issue if you have recently changed your CAD application)?
- Close your CAD application
- Open the Lineardraft Desktop application from the System Tray.
- Each CAD application requires a unique Plugin in order for Lineardraft to work within. Check that the Plugin you require is listed (for example, if you use Microstation V8i you will need the Lineardraft Microstation V8i Plugin). The Plugin should show a green circle with the words 'Up To Date' displayed next to it. If this is not the case, click the 'Options Menu' (indicated by the 3 dots) and select 'Install/Update Plugin'. Please note this will require admin rights to be entered on your machine, so you may need to consult with your internal IT department.
- Once this is complete re-load your CAD application and check to see if Lineardraft is loaded (refer to the task above as well, this might also be a problem)
Is Lineardraft installed and up to date?
- Close your CAD application
- Open the Lineardraft Desktop application from the System Tray
- The first item is in the list is the Lineardraft software and this should display a green circle and the words 'Up to Date'. If this is showing as 'Not Installed', 'Not Synced' or 'Update Available', click the 'Options Menu' (indicated by the 3 dots) and select 'Force Sync Data'. This will take a few moments
- Once complete, open your CAD application, and if necessary refer to the first block about the Lineardraft Toolbar above
