Cross Section

Lineardraft allows you to view your model in multiple ways. The software also allows you to view individual structures in multiple ways.

  1. Select 'View Cross Section' button

Follow the prompt to select a structure.

  2. Select a Structure

The chosen structure will be displayed on screen in a increasing chainage, forward-facing cross sectional view.

The displayed view is not a flat 2D image, but is a 3D volumetric clip of the structure.

The clip volume that is applied is taken directly from the 'Across Track Clip Volume' and the 'Along Track Clip Volume' values that are defined in the project presets you are using.

These values can be adjusted globally by updating your project presets, however they can be configured on an individual structure basis by changing the values on the structure 'Settings' form - found via the 'Structure Adjust' functionality.

The above method is not the only way that you can view the cross section of a Lineardraft structure.

As standard, every structure that is created using Lineardraft, will have the above-mentioned cross section volumetric clip automatically stored as a 'Saved View'.

Simply open the 'Saved Views', double-click on the structure you wish to view and then click on an open area of your application screen.

The cross section view of the structure will be displayed.

Top Tip

As Lineardraft automatically creates a cross section saved view of each structure, then why not reference this saved view onto a sheet to speed up your cross sections production!
