How do I add auxiliary wires to bridge and tunnel walls?

Usually, when adding an auxiliary wire into your design, more specifically when wiring inside a tunnel or under a bridge, you would add a new auxiliary bracket directly on to the existing catenary system support. However, in the cases where you don't want to attach to an existing catenary support or where there is no existing catenary support, it's possible to attach directly to the wall by creating a 'Wall' type structure/attachment point.

Here's how!

  1. Draw a marker (a circle) on the spot where you'd like to attach the auxiliary wire.
  2. Click the 'Structure Place' button on the Lineardraft Toolbar and click on your marker.
  3. Continue to select the left and right rails as usual.

The rails you select here are associated with your newly placed structure

  4. Select 'Wall' from the 'Structure Type' drop-down menu.
  5. Click 'Confirm' once you're ready to save your structure.
  6. Now you can attach the auxiliary wire to the structure by clicking the 'Attach Wire' or 'Wire Manager' button on the Lineardraft Toolbar.

If the wire does not already exist, you'll need to create it first

  7. When you're ready, Check the 'Equipment' checkbox to expand the dialog and click the 'Add Bracket' button.
  8. Choose a bracket from the drop-down menu and click 'Confirm' to save.
  9. You'll now see a live preview and once you're happy with your configuration, click 'Confirm' to save.

TOP TIP!

If you don't want to see any structure annotations (structure boxes, etc.), you can turn them off by unchecking the individual items in the structure 'Settings' dialog:

  1. Click the 'Structure Adjust' button on the Lineardraft Toolbar and click on your structure.
  2. In the 'Edit Structure' dialog click the 'Settings' button.
  3. In the 'Settings' dialog uncheck the 'Draw Structure Box' and 'Draw Wiring Boxes'.
  4. Click 'Confirm' to save and return to the 'Edit Structure' dialog.
  5. Click 'Confirm' to save.
